The College Library contains text books, journals and other books of library importance. The staff and students of this college and other persons specially permitted by the Principal, may use the library. The library remains open during the working hours of the college and remains closed on Sundays and other authorised holidays. The following are some of the library rules for guidance of all.

  1. Persons of unsound mind and habits are not allowed to the library.
  2. No book shall be taken out of the library without the knowledge of the Librarian until it has been entered in the issue Register and the entry attested by the borrower.
  3. Each borrower must examine the conditions of the books before they are issued, otherwise in case of mutilation discovered later, the presumption will be against the borrower.
  4. Books shall be returned within the period allowed to a borrower.
    1. Teaching Staff - 2 Months
    2. Non Teaching and others - 15 days
    3. Students - 15 days
  5. If the date for the return of a book falls on an authorised holiday, it may be returned to the librarian on the day library reopens.
  6. The student borrowers must have to return the library books within 15 days failing which the borrower student has to pay a fine of Re. 1/- per day per book.
  7. A book once issued to a borrower may be re-issued to him / her only when no body else demands it. Books before re-issue shall be presented before the librarian for necessary entries in the Register.
  8. Books of reference, maps, calenders, courses of studies, dictionaries, questionaire, University question papers other University documents and rare books shall not be issued for use at home without the special permission of the Principal.
  9. The library premises should not be used for any purpose other than reading or consulting books and periodicals of the library.
  10. All those who may happen to be inside the library or its neighborhood are expected to observe strict silence. The librarian is to see that the rules of silence are strictly observed and any breach of the rule is to be reported to the Principal. Members of teaching staff are also expected to use their influence to promote the observance of the rule whenever they are in the library and to report to the Principal cases of deliberate disobedience and misbehavior and indiscipline.
  11. Spitting, smoking or sleeping in the library is forbidden. Librarian will report to the Principal all cases of such activity or improper use of the library on the part either or student or staff.
  12. Personal book or journals, cycles and umbrellas should not be brought into the library premises.
  13. Any book lost, damaged or defected by a borrower must be replaced by him. If the book is one or a set or a series and the volume cannot be obtained single, the whole set or series must be replaced at the reader’s cost or he / she shall deposit ten times the cost of the book Vide resolution No. 4 (b) of proceeding No. 3 dated. 14.05.2000 of the G. B.).
  14. All library articles should be returned by the borrowers before the summer vacation and also when the Librarian needs or else this will be intimated by the Librarian to the Principal for necessary action.
  15. Student borrowers shall return all books to the library before they are sent up for the University or H. S. Examination or promoted to the next higher class.
  16. The students and the staff of college are required to take a ‘No dues’ clearance certificate from the librarian while leaving the institution or applying for important documents.
  17. A borrower against whom any overdue / other charge is outstanding shall not be allowed to borrow book from library.
  18. If a student loses library card, another card will be issued to him / her on application and on payment of Rs. 5/-.

    Monday : +2 1st Yr. Arts and +2 All Science
    Tuesday : +3 3rd Yr. Arts and Commerce
    Wednesday : +3 2nd Yr. Arts and Commerce
    Thursday : +3 All Scicence Stream
    Friday : +3 1st Yr. Arts and Commerce
    Saturday : +2 2nd Yr. Arts and +2 All Commerce
  20. Every student borrower should surrender the library card before he / she leaves the institution.
  21. Seminar Library :-
  22. Rules for General Library are also applicable in case of Seminar Library. Departmental lectures in charge of seminars will collect books for the seminar from the library from the beginning of the session. A record of the same will be kept in the library. Seminar books must be returned before the commencement of summer vacation for stock verification, repair and processing of books. While a student leaves the colleg he / she will have to produce a no dues certificate from the lecture-in-charge of the concerned seminar.
